A new cook in the house!

Phoebe decided one day over Christmas break, that she wanted to make cookies all by herself. She even got out a cookbook, and found one that had a section called "Quick and Easy Cookies"! My only suggestion to her was that she get all of her ingredients together before she started mixing... so that she knew she'd have everything she needed. This is a lesson I learned the hard way.

So, she got herself all of the ingredients... measured it all out... and mixed a very thick dough by herself. I offered help, and she refused...

... but she kept working on it... and eventually got it just right...

...I did the oven work, but she got all of the cookies on the baking sheet and ready to go!

...and she got to taste the first results of her labor!

They got a hearty thumbs up from all taste-testers!

Despite the healthy snack they wanted to leave for Santa, we decided that he just HAD to try Phoebe's first attempt at cooking!

He was very pleased and proud of her! As am I!
