A picture is worth a thousand words...

...and this one pretty much sums it up around here lately. It's been a 2-pacifier kind of week. We were all sick, then we were all tired, and now we're all grumpy and feeling overworked. Everyone wants someone else to do for them... Mike is possibly the only exception to this lately.

Phoebe's having a 2-pacifier kind of day... she's SO bummed because her friend across the street wanted to play with the bigger kids in her family instead of Phoebe. But Phoebe didn't even tell her that it hurt her feelings. Now she's moping around my house trying desperately to get up the courage to call across the street to state her case.

It makes me sad... Phoebe wants me to call this friend and tell her friend how she feels. I just can't keep negotiating her communication... and this is a tough thing... for both of us. I so want her to feel like she can stand up for what she wants and needs. It's not easy... and I don't know how to teach her.

Nora was just so tired she ended up passing out on the couch... after much crying, clinging, and demanding. They both just needed me to make their days better... to change the feelings and courses of events... but none of us seemed to be able to stop the train wreck... SIGH...
